Monsignor Gion was born in Dickinson, ND.
He was baptized and received confirmation in the Church of St. Henry, Regent.
He attended North Dakota State University and Cardinal Muench Seminary in Fargo, ND, 1995-1998,
then went on to St. Paul Seminary in St. Paul, MN,1998-2002.
He received his BA in Philosophy from North Dakota State University and a Masters of Divinity from St. Paul Seminary. He was Ordained to the Holy Order of Priesthood by Bishop Paul Zipfel at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck on July 3, 2002.
